Sleeve grooving machines
Covering the diameter range from ND 300 mm up to ND 4000 mm the sleeve grooving machines performs the internal machining of the sleeves in order to fit in the elastomeric sealing gaskets, the so called toroidal O-ring or Reka gaskets. It is also used for cutting the sleeve blanks, max. 6 m. long, into finite sleeves.
During the machining the sleeve blank is placed on the machine support. A hydraulically actuated support positions the blank in the processing zone. Once the blank has reached a correct position, motor driven rollers start rotating the pipe. A hydraulically regulated grooving tool is inserted inside the sleeve blank and the grooving of the sleeve inner surface is performed. After the grooving operation is finished the sleeve is cut. The arm of the cutting disk is positioned by a hydraulic piston at a set point in the proximity of the external blank surface and a circumferential cut is performed. After the operation is completed, the blank rotation is stopped and the hydraulic support lifts the sleeve which is then removed from the sleeve grooving machine, while a new sleeve blank is moved forward by the support for processing.
Pipe sleeve joining machines
The pipe and sleeve joining machine allows the operator to fit the plain pipe end with a sleeve in order to obtain a pipe ready for the bell-and-spigot installation. The machines has been designed to allow the joining operations of GRP pipes with corresponding sleeves covering the diameter from ND 300 mm up to ND 4000 mm.
The machines are equipped with one movable and one fixed frame. The movable frame is connected with a hydraulic cylinder while the fixed frame is assembled on the main support beams. Depending on the pipe length the fixed frame can be moved and fixed by pins within the range up to 12 m. A pipe and a sleeve are placed between the frames on the hydraulically actuated support. The pipe remains firm while the sleeve is forced onto the pipe end by the movable frame. After joining a finished pipe is unloaded by the hydraulic support.
